The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation has invested $6,000,000.00 into our health care facility since our inception in 1986!

That's an annual average of $176,000.00.

Our Impact

Year after year, the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation is able to meet the annual priority equipment needs of the Humboldt District Health Complex.  As an organization, we take these priority needs very seriously to avoid a disruption in any services that are offered from our health care facility.  The continual support from our donors is paramount to our health care!

Inpatients & Obstetrics

The Humboldt District Hospital offers 34 acute care patient beds.  The beds are comprised of 32 medical, 2 Obstetrical and 4 Observation.

There are some patient rooms that have been renovated and now classified as safe rooms. These particular rooms are designed to accommodate patients with addictions or mental health and have been specially designed for patient security and protection while remaining in a comfortable environment.

Surgery & Sterile Processing Department

Our rural health care facility is very fortunate to have two modern operating theaters.  Several types of surgery are offered from the Humboldt District Hospital which reduces a tremendous amount of travel to larger centers for those who live throughout the Humboldt district.  Having these two theaters requires that we are able to have up to date equipment for surgeons, anesthetists and nurses, as well, having a fully functioning sterile processing unit.

24 Hour Emergency, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency & Chemotherapy

We are so fortunate to have 24 hour emergency that is always ready for the unexpected!  The Foundation's recently funded the purchase of a LUCAS Chest Compression system for patients who are in cardiac arrest.  Our Diagnostic Imaging Department features a Lab, Ultrasound and X-Ray.  The Humboldt District Hospital also offers the Community Oncology Program which means there are certain types of chemotherapy that can be given to patients.

"We are excited to be able to assist in the replacement of the expiring Cardiac Monitoring Equipment for the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation," said Giles Hellyer, President Potash for BHP.  "It is important the Communities that surround our projects and offices have access to leading medical services for the overall health and wellbeing of local residents."
